Oceans For Backyards

Today is the day! I have an outfit post for you guys. I am so sorry. I think that is why I haven't been getting much commenting on my post lately. I am still here, so don't worry. I love doing this, and I am so glad that I started this.
These past two days, it has been raining every day. I should say pouring instead of raining, literally. So, when it stopped raining for a little bit, I ran outside and snapped a few pictures. As of right now, I am going to have to wait on the tri-pod. Sad? I know.
There is me missing the self-timer.
(dress: H&M, belt: thrifted, shoes: Urban Outfitters)
I am going to change the layout...again. I know. Sorry. I am making it so much more simple. If you guys have any ideas of what more I can do then please tell me? I would love to hear.

P.S. Can someone tell me how to center my header?

iLook & iAdore v. 1

First, I want to say that this is not an outfit post of me. I am going to start this new thing every Sunday called iLook & iAdore. It is where I go onto some of my favorite bloggers post and pick one of my favorite and their most recent post.
Second, I am looking into get a tripod. I hate taking pictures inside. I want to guys to be able to see some of my favorite places. I mean, I live out in the country and woods, and I have so many secret places that I call my own. I think I may talk my brother into taking pictures for me at the moment though. I promise that there will be an outfit post soon.
Third, I have been experimenting with the looks of my post. Please don't get mad. I am trying to see what I like best.

iLook & iAdore:

(left to right)
1.Lulu Letty - When I saw this outfit post, I fell in love. I have always thought maroon is a elegant color. I love how Maria kept the outfit simple too. I love her shoes also.

2.Selective Potential - This is definitely the summer look that I adore. Tieka looks wonderful! The hat fit perfect with that dress. Wanna know something else amazing about that dress? Not only do I love the pattern of it, but it has a cut-out heart on the back. AH! How cute is that!

3.Fashin Pirates - Let me first off say that Arabelle is someone I idolize. I have been reading her blog for a year now. I love it! I have never met her, but I honestly think she is the coolest person I know. I love her backpack! She can take things that you don't think will match, and make them work together so well. I love this look!

4. The Upside of Wonder - Amanda is so cute! I love her dress. I remember reading that she was going to put it in her esty shop, and let me say that I probably would have kept it. It has an open back too. Her outfit is so simple, but so cute!

This week is major cleaning week for who? Oh, me. It is where I go through my closet and pick the stuff I want to keep, and the things that I do not want to keep. I clean under my bed, and try to get as much junk out as possible. Why do I do this? Well, the school year is fixing to start soon, and I know that I will get more junk. AH! I hate junk.
I hope you guys have a wonderful week!

I'm not afraid to take a stand

"I'm not afraid to take a stand
Everybody come take my hand
We'll walk this road together, through the storm
Whatever weather, cold or warm
Just let you know that, you're not alone
Holla if you feel that you've been down the same road."
-Eminem

I don't listen to much rap, but I always have liked Eminem. Seriously, his lyrics are meaningful. They actually stink in my head. They motivate me to do things.
So, I will have an actual outfit post soon. I just haven't been myself since I got back from Virginia. I will have one tomorrow or Sunday though. I won't let you guys down. But, I do have something for you guys. I have this dress that I bought in New Orleans about two years ago. I have yet to wear it, and I hate seeing it just hanging in my closet. I need opinions. How should I style it?
I can't wait to hear what you guys think I should do. :) By the way, I am back to normal now. Everything is good here.
Have a good weekend!

To make them realize this is my life

Wow! I really feel like such a bad blogger right now. I am so sorry! I was in Virginia last week, and I didn't even have enough time to read those who I follow. It was depressing. But, I am back! Yay! I love Virginia. It is so beautiful, and I love all my family.
This place is so amazing. There is this big meadow that you can walk in, and the deer will stay even when you get up close. My exact words when my cousin and I were walking, "I wish I could live outside, and just fall over in the grass when I am tired. Well, first I would get rid of all the snakes." What do you guys think of my red, cat-eye sunglasses?! I found these at an antique store for $3.75!!
We also went to Washington D.C. It was fun. I love being in the city, but I love being in the country with no neighbors. You knows where I will be living when I am on my own.
Gracie drove home!! Okay, maybe not. She was my traveling partner. She did really good with traveling too. I think she will do more traveling in her future.
So, there are some of the pictures. Once I got home, everything went down hill. I am not going to tell the whole story, but I will just say that my mom and I aren't civil. My friend and I were talking last night about the beginning of last school year. I was different. About two months ago, my friend asked me why I didn't talk to her much during that time and I told her that I was trying to find myself. During that time, I was definitely trying to find out what the world needed from me. I didn't know my place, who I was, or what I liked. I am through that stage now. But, I told my friend last night that we will always being trying to find ourselves even if they are little things. I have this decision to make about, well, cross country. I ran it all through junior high. My parents pushed me a lot. They never will admit, but all my friends and their parents can tell. I don't have a passion for it anymore. I have made my decision, and that is to push it aside and do something else. My mom did not take my decision well. We aren't even talking. So, if I don't seem myself or uber happy when I am blogging, then you guys know why. Well, I gotta go.
Have a good week!

10 days!

I am going to start apologizing right now for not posting for 10 days! I am so sorry! I am in Virginia, and I have been busy the whole time. I just got back from Washingtion D.C. yesterday. It was very fun. We went to Tysons Corner, which is a very big shopping center. I was in heaven because they had an Urban Outfitters and H&M. I got a sweater from H&M, and I necklace from some little jewelry store.
To those of you who remember my dog, Gracie, she is doing great. We were all scared that she wouldn't do well on the 16 hour road trip, but she slept the whole time. We didn't even have to drug her.
I won't be able to post pictures though. I left my USB cord in Arkansas. UGH! You will just have to look forward to July 18th because I will be home.
I am again really sorry for keeping you guys waiting. I am also sorry because this is a very short post.
I will post again very soon.
Have a good week!

"I think I know my geography pretty damn well..."

Happy 4th, I guess.
Here are my pros and cons about July 4th. Pros: My grandmother makes yummy food and my family gets together. (Wow, that is a lot of pros.) Cons: I hate fireworks, Gracie, my dog, hates fireworks, my mom and dad aren't off work, I have no boat to go on the lake, and I think that was about it. The 4th just isn't one of my favorite holidays. I like the meaning behind it, but that is about it.
This outfit post reminded me of something that Rebecca would wear from The Clothes Horse. I got the dress from Buffalo Exchange in New Orleans. When I picked it off the rack, I knew it was meant for me. I kind of feel like a little fairy when I wear it. Is that weird?
I seriously don't take the time to fix my hair. I usually spend about a minute on my hair. I wash it and stuff, but I mean the styling part is where I am lazy. My friends will get mad when I tell them how long I take to fix my hair and they spend hours straightening, curling, blow drying, and teasing their hair. I don't do any of that stuff to my hair. I feel like a cruel person to my poor little hair when I do that stuff.
Awh, I love those earrings. My friend had a pair similar to these way before I got mine. I adored them so much. I borrowed them from her as much as I could. I went to a jewelry store in New Orleans and spotted these out of the corner of my eye. I seriously even did a happy dance, and then I did a bigger happy dance when I saw that they were only 5 dollars. AH!
So, I am slow becoming a Pescetarian. It is a type of vegetarian who eats everything a normal vegetarian eats, but they eat fish also. Beef, chicken, and pork, it all sounds gross to me now. After having a long talk with my aunt about all the cruel things they do to land animals, I just can't eat them anymore. I feel cruel, and I hate being cruel. It depresses me. If any of you are vegetarians, then please send me some recipes that you really enjoy. I would love to try them out.
Well, I am out. I gotta start packing...again. Ah. I am leaving for Virginia on Wednesday to visit family. Gracie is going on her very first road trip! I will take pictures of her, since a lot of you guys that she was adorable. I thank you so much! You guys are bringing up her confidence. Hehe.
Oh, and thank you for all the comments and my new followers. I seriously love you guys. You guys are making me smile so much. Thank you!

Scream!

My friend, how are you today?
I got back from my retreat this morning. It was okay. The beginning sucked, but what is new. I thought about doing a July 4th outfit, but I was trying to pick out one and starting think, "What the hell am I doing? I am not patriotic at all." And really, I am not. Sorry.
I started taking pictures outside, but it is hard taking them outside when you don't have a tripod or someone else taking them. So, you will notice that I move in inside for the rest of the pictues. Blah.
The skirt is from my aunt in New Orleans. It is leather and from the 80s. I love the color of it.
So, one of my friends from camp a while back told me about Local Natives. I finally listened to them today, and I fell in love. No joke. I love them! Airplanes is probably my favorite right now. I found some other bands: Peggy Sue & Sky Larkin. Check them out if you get the chance. Please feel free to comment and be a follower if you want to. I would really love it.
Well, you party animals, I am out of here. I have to go download some music. Yay! I wish I was at Warped Tour in Dallas though. :( Sigh.

The birds are still singing

Bonjour everyone!
I am home from New Orleans. I miss it so much. I mean, I love where I live and my family, but I feel so much more comfortable in New Orleans. I am not judged down there, but I am where I live. I sure did miss my dog, Gracie. She is a miniature daschund and almost 3 years old.
So, that night when I wrote the post "Restless...", I ended up staying up the rest of the night. I found this really cool website though. It is called Polyvore. I was more interested in the celebrity styles: Celebrity Styles. The pictures gave me a lot of ideas. I love Zooey Deschanel, so her's was my favorite.

I highly suggest you check it out.
I don't have an outfit post today. :P I am going to a Student Council Retreat with my school. I am seriously dreading it. The only thing I am going to like is going hiking and being outside. I can't stand the kids at my school. I really wish my parents would let me move schools.
I took the picture above at 6 a.m. I though it looked rather cool. I hated the after effect of staying up for 24 hours though.
I will be back in 3 days. Until next time, have a good weekend!

Restless...

Ello Mates!
I am still in New Orleans, but this is my last night, and for some reason I can't sleep at all. My friend is passed out in the room we are sharing, but I layed there, and just couldn't fall asleep, so I came to the computer. In the picture above, I am the one wearing my hair up in a ponytail. I just bought those stunna shades today from Urban Outfitters. How about them apples!
Today, I actually got some good shopping in. We hit up the Salvation Army, and I got some purchases. I found this one sweater vest that I loved, and then I spotted a moth hole. Ugh! It broke my heart. I found some other really cools things I liked, but I ended up going with the family, and I hate shopping at thrift stores with my family because they judge the stuff that I pick off the racks. Blah, I hate when people judge you. This outfit post is more causal and relaxed. I wasn't fixing to get all dressing to go eat some sushi at Mikimoto's, which was amazing. Smoked salmon and the eel were my favorites.
I just recently got that shirt too. I love it so much. One, it makes a political and general statement, and I love making statements. Two, it is super comfy. I didn't even want to take it off before I tried to go to bed, which I failed at. Oh well.
I think I am going to go read some other blogs, and hopefully, get to bed.

H is also for Hello

Hello everyone!
My name is Haley, and I decided to start my own blog. I have a passion for art, music, fashion, and more. I love hearing people's opinions, so please comment whenever you want.
I am in New Orleans right now, and just recently made a skirt by myself. AH! It is so cute. The pattern and fabric were vintage. I have pictures of it. The outfit is not amazing. It is just a tank top and the skirt. I am not even wearing shoes. I just wanted to focus on the skirt. Oh, and my head is cut off. :/ Sorry.
My newest purchase: Volume Two, She & Him. I love Zooey Deschanel. She is so cute and I love her style. I have listened to this CD 10 times since I have purchased it, and it never gets old.Well, I am off to sew another skirt. I hope you all have a good week!
